    Works as expected

Saw works well, as expected for a Makita. Depth adjustments easy to use, cuts on plywood very clean. Happy with purchase

The saw did as advertised and some. The first time I used it I cut a 2.5 inch slab of black walnut. I obviously had to do it I a number of shallow cuts. However the makita did well.

    Game changer

After years of trying to use a regular circular saw and various home made or commercial add on solutions, I dropped the cash for a real track saw. I knew after the first cut with it that it was exactly what I had been wanting. Smooth cutting, easily controlled, and exactly on the line I wanted to cut. You can "make do" with other solutions, but this system does it right, every time.

I too should have bought it sooner

I've had my saw for almost 2 years now. I've used home made guide rails, purchased guide rails from Lee Valley but this was worth buying. I shouldn't have wasted so much time on the others but I thought it was too expensive at the time. The only thing to watch for is to support the rail with other materials that are the same thickness as the material you are cutting so the track won't tip as you pass the end of the board. On longer cuts, the 118" track can also bend a bit and cause it to move if you are not using the clamps. I don't use the table saw as much any more because you can get finished cuts with this saw. Busy Bee is also one of the cheaper places to get the Makita blade. If you buy a different make, watch to make sure you get one with the same 20mm arbor. Also if the kerf(2.2mm) is different, you may have to move or replace the splinter guard strip.

    Should have bought it sooner

Have had the Makita track saw in our production shop for about a week doing solid surface countertops. The saw performs flawlessly and results in a very accurate cut. It is a quiet saw with ecellent dust extraction considering how dusty solid surface can be. The movement of the saw on the track is smooth and effort free and the plunge action is also easy and responsive. We purchased the saw and track kit and also an extra t55" track with the licking rails and 2 clamps. I just purchased the 118" track today as I found that we were assembling and disassembling the 55" tracks to make cross cuts. If you buy this kit, add on the 118" track and you will be happy you did. The one thing that Makita could do some work on is the undermounted screw clamp threads - they need a bit of lubrication as they are not cut threads and look a bit less quality made than the reast of the kit. However they do what they are supposed to do. The track when stting on a clean surface does not move even when not clamped. We have been making long cuts where we could not clamp and I had an assistant just hold the track down with hand pressure and it did not move at all. Very good product and excellent price.
