I bought this unit a few months ago, so far it has served me well as i'm only hooking it up to one machine at a time.
a few problems :
1) I cut indoors and after i'm done running a machine i can feel the saw dust in the air. I suppose this because the filter bag that is supplied doesn't seem to do a good job of filtering the finer dust. I discovered that i could purchase better filter canister but for the price of the additional filter i suggest you step towards a cyclone collector.
2) I'm having the same problem as Cecil where the metal straps don't seal perfectly.
Overal: I wouldn't buy this unit again. I'd considering sourcing my own parts and putting something custom together. I highly suggest anyone looking into buying a dust collector to first read Bill Pentz website on fine dust collection. I learned alot. Unfortunately it was after i had bought this unit and the disappointment led me to find explanations and solutions.

Been using this for a couple months now. I only have it hooked up to one tool at a time, so it does what it's supposed to do. I liked the fit and finish of the CX404 much more than the CT053, as well as the claimed increase in CFM.
There are a couple minor issues - the metal straps on the bags and the filter don't seal perfectly, and so I see dust shooting out of the tiny gaps, especially near where the straps' clamp mechanism is. Perhaps some weatherstripping can fix this.
