  1. Great value

Posted by David on 10th Feb 2012

I have not used an HVLP sprayer before and for that matter I have not used many sprayers at all. I was able to get "onto" the operation of the 5500 quite quickly and it really did a great job spraying latex paint on a wall unit I am building. Just a couple of little things that I modified.

The air intake and filter is right on the bottom of the turbine. I added another "bottom to the unit with 1/4 ply with 1/4 feet to protect the intake filter from plugging up with floor dirt and debris ( either from the shop floor or the ground if spryaing outside.

On the material volume adjuster knob I engraved a reference line to aid in the counting of revolutions and helping the repeatablity of settings.

Be very carefull to insert and slightly twist the turbine hoses so they don't come out of the units when under pressure. I had it happen several times after the hose warmed up and became a little more flexible. I have had no trouble since I started double checking the firmness of fit.

I found it a great asset to have a radio signal remote control switch so I can turn the machine on and off without bending down all the time to hit the swich on the turbine unit.
