Removed gap adjustment 'lever plate' to close blade gap a bit more. after a slight 'tuneup' it worked fine.

Bought this couple months ago at work in alberta finally tried it was very disappointed had to drill locking mechanism because every time I tried using it it came loose so I replaced it with bolt now it locks .blade was terrible not even close to being sharp took awhile to sharpen cause blade had a dish

Groz Block Plan 6 inch 13.5 degree
I am very disappointed with this plane. The fit on it is terrible The blade does not fit tight to the body. There is a considerable gap under the blade that will fill with chips. I might be able to make it usable with a bit of work with a file but I doubt it is worth the effort. I also bought the 7 inch plane and the blade on it is so poor that it is useless. If the blade on this one is similar, then it is also going to be useless. I cannot really tell at this time as it is not usable as it is. I would not recommend buying this.
