CX08SC

8" Parallelogram Jointer with Spiral Cutter-Head - Craftex CX-Series

This 8" jointer with spiral cutter-head has all the features woodworkers want for precision jointing and ease of use. The four row spiral cutter-head with carbide inserts made in Germany ensures smoother, quieter, and overall clear cuts compared to standard knives and the 3-HP powerful motor gets work done quickly.

With the parallelogram table adjustment you will never have to worry about your tables not being parallel. The 8" wide and 76-3/8" long table provides a perfect work surface for jointing and the fence stops allow to set the fence at 90-degree and +-45-degree. The 4" dust port is for optimum dust removal and the integrated mobile base allows moving the machine with ease.

Like all CX-Series machines, this unit features powder coated paint, sharp looking two tone colours and a full 3 year warranty.

  1. Very Satisfied

Posted by James on 14th Jul 2016

I've had this 8" spiral head jointer for over a year. I am very happy with it. Only thing I find wrong is it seems effected by temperature changes and moving it about on the floor. The outfeed table becomes slightly mis-aligned with the cutters. I have re aligned the table 4or 5 times already. I only discover this problem after trouble getting a straight edge on a long board.

  2. Good Value, A Little Misleading

Posted by Mike on 20th Feb 2016

Machine works very well, and represents good value for the price. Two comments. Write up states 3 hp. Information on machine and motor states 9 amps (240) so 2 hp would be more accurate. The Grizzly version is 12 amps, so a truer 3 hp. No problem, 2 hp is plenty.
Lining up the pullies is essential to ensure smooth start up, running and shut down. My pulley on the motor came right off before I lined things up properly.
I am pleased overall with this purchase.

  3. Ready to work in 2 hours

This machine came a few days after ordering. Came together well and had the tables pre-adjusted properly, just had to raise the outfeed table by a few mil to remove the notch on the board, a 5 minutes job. Runs smooth but vibrates quite a bit when winding down. Spiral cutter does a magnificient finish and overall the adjustments are easy and strongly built. Very satisfied.

  4. Satisfied so far

Posted by Daniel Marc on 5th Jul 2012

Had this jointer for about 4 months now. Picked it up in the Ottawa store, very helpful service. Machine was well packaged and after uncrating everything and assembling, which went fine, I was impressed with the finish on the machine. I was using an old General Int. 6" for a number of years and was looking for a serious upgrade. I can say after several months of use, this machine is what I was looking for. The sprial cutterhead is much queiter than I thought. I had heard it in the store, but in my shop it seems quieter which is a plus. Biggest plus so far is the amount of sanding I have cut down on, as the finish with a pass or two is very good. All adjustments are easy to make although I have not had to change any of the carbide inserts but that also looks easy. The castor base is another plus and saved me from buying a mobile base. Overall I am satisified with the machine and expect good service from it for long time.
