Needs lots of work
Well I've spent alot of time trying to true up the bottom. After about an hour of sanding I'm still not there. There seems to be quite a hollow on the bottom of the plane around the mouth. I'll keep at it and hopefully have a useable tool some day.

quality of planer
Although our school outlines the GROZ products as a reasonably priced item that performs well, we came to learn as a class, that in fact - manufacturing has changed. The quality of this product is NOT what they came to know and a number of us students all had complications with the operation of the planer. We had several skilled professionals take it apart and assess the reason for improper performance (or lack thereof) and they are equally disappointed. I am STILL WAITING on a reply and resolution, about my RETURN of this item - at the Barrie location. Interested to see what Busy Bees does with this information and how you handle it. At present, I have a ticket waiting, on outcome from your Quality Control...which frankly has already taken too long.

decent plane with a little work
took 1 hr to flatten the sole took off the frog cleaned paint off removed lateral lever off frog and filed frog replaced lever so lever would move all the way right and left replaced blade and iron with veritas

Poor engineering
This is a very poor quality tool, did not expect to having to adjust the handle butt also. After six hours honing and adjusting, barely workable. Not suitable for smoothing.
