Horizontal clamps are popular in the woodworking industry, especially in use
with shaper and overhead routers. "Holding capacity" is the maximum force
applied in the closed position without bending the clamp. This pressure is
closest to the mounting point and decreases from it.

Toggle clamp 5 1/2 in. horizontal
Used a couple in a sanding jig. One worked flawlessly but the other one didn't seem to work as well. For the price can't complain. Would buy again .
