CX407
great tool. should have purchased 10 years ago. too bad that remote control is of 'linear type'. you need to face the manual control to control speed, timer, off mode. this is not convenient for every one, depending of your shop configuration and filter location.

Issues!
Unit cuts out randomly and won’t restart (no timer set) unless it is unplugged.

CX407
Great unit except that the middle speed is not working...never did which is a bit inconvenient and disappointing

3 speed air filter
The fan is not balanced to a high standard and this causes an irritating vibration.

3 Speed Air Filter - Off Gasses
The CX 407 has been hanging in place for about a week now and have used it for about a half hour. The machine and its manual still seem to be off gassing an odour like burning plastic or something similar! Has anyone noticed that? I have not yet contacted the company.

Should have got this years ago
Health and safety is often neglected in a home shop. I bought 2 of these for my home welding shop and it made a huge difference in air quality and my nose, mouth, lungs are not black. Only problem is the filters last a few hours and the cost is prohibitive if I'm doing heavy welding and grinding. My SOLUTION was to get filters at HVAC supplier by the dozen and for a few bucks I replace them often. I combine a 1" x12"x24" MERV 13 inside (secondry) filter with a 2" thick 12"x24" MERV 9 outside (primary) filter. The 2" outside filter sticks out past the end of the machine but with a strip of wide masking tape to secure it that's ok and being thicker it filters longer. I may even try a 3" outside filter. It costs me about 8$ to replace both filters together and I now have much less dirt in my nose, mouth, and oviously my lungs. The shop is a bit cleaner. My wife is happier that I'm taking better care of my health too. ;) Too bad I can't include photos of the installation. They work so well I got a third cleaner for the garage!!!
