6 Woodworking Jointer with Spiral Cutter-Head Craftex CX-Series
The CX06SC is equipped with a powerful 1.5HP motor, fully enclosed cabinet stand, extra long infeed table and high quality spiral cutter-head with carbide inserts made in Germany.
The 6 wide and 55-1/2 long table provides a perfect work surface for jointing and the fence stops allow to set the fence at 90-degree and +-45-degree. The four row spiral cutter-head produces a smoother, quieter, and overall cleaner cut compared to standard knives and the 4 dust port is for optimum dust removal.

With this spiral cutterhead model, just the fact that I don't have to adjust those knives anymore is a blessing - with my old jointer there was always one knife going out of alignment when tightening them down. The spiral cutterhead knives are fixed so they're always at the perfect height. The parallelogram tables are the other great feature on this unit making it easy to adjust the tables so they're co planer without having to fuss with shims that keep going out of position or falling out. The jointer used to be the most frustrating tool in my shop because it was always going out of alignment and had to be reset every time I milled some wood. Now I love using my jointer. The longer infeed table ( for a 6 " ) helps with longer stock too. I gave it 5 stars because it's built well and works great but on the negative side the assembly instructions leave a lot to be desired and the fence design is not great. Everything else is good
I did a lot of comparing before purchase and this unit seemed to offer the best combination of features. I have not had it long but I have put through enough hard maple to be able to comment. The unit comes in two boxes one for the base and one for the rest of the pieces. Both are well packed. The instruction manual is adequate but could use a bit more detail. For example there is nothing about getting the fence to 90 degrees with the bed. Assembly is straightforward with a helper only necessary for the bed. The infeed and outfeed tables were perfectly aligned right out of the box. The belt adjustment took some time as it banged against the housing. Some guidance on appropriate tension would be useful. The best part is the cut - it's really good and the cutters are very quiet. The motor labours a bit on a full 6 inch cut but it gets through it just fine.
Only two things make this a four instead of a five rating. The spring in the cutterhead guard is not strong enough to pull the guard back fully and quickly. Secondly the system to lock the fence to 90 is a bit weak in design.
But overall I am very happy.
