I love the Kreg jig products however the K5 clamping mechanism maybe the cheapest made device I have ever seen. It’s dollar store quality. My first clamp broke after two uses. I emailed Kreg jig directly and they responded quick with a replacement part. Again after a few uses the clamp would no longer work. With a lot of frustration building up I decided to take it apart and couldn’t believe the quality of parts inside. It is for real dollar store quality. Not something you would expect when you spend closer to $200. The clamping device probably costs in the ball park of $5 to make. Don’t get me wrong Kreg jigs other products are fabulous and their response and customer service is great but this cheaply built China stuff to make a quick buck is not ok.
