4 Jaw self centering chuck embodies precision, simplicity and reliability.
This 4 Jaw chuck grips internally and externally. Will hold round or square
stock and only requires one hand for tightening. The totally enclosed back
assures consistent smooth action by preventing dust and debris from getting
into the scroll chuck.

Good chuck but missing range in holding capacity
I’ve owned this chuck since 2009 and it continues to be a good performer. I also have the 1-inch pin jaws and the 4-inch dovetail jaws. When using the jaws in expansion mode (i.e., internal chucking within a recess), there is a certain small range in diameter of the recess that is too big for the supplied jaws and too small for the 4-inch dovetail jaws to hold the piece being turned. Otherwise, it is okay. Just wish that a replacement set of jaws (for those that come with the chuck) would be available as well as the machine screws that hold the jaws to the chuck body (the hex slot in the head of these screws can wear over time).

Not perfect but good value for the money
A bit sloppy machining and the one I have has a bit more runout than I like. The body runs true but the jaws do not. It does not render it unusable but it is a problem if you remove an item and then put it back in. However at this price it is a very nice addition for my old Beaver 3400 lathe.
