Notably, the helical cutterhead features 18 inserts arranged diagonally in two rows. This arrangement ensures smooth shearing cuts, minimizes tear out, provides a smoother finish, and operates at lower noise levels compared to straight knife blades. very impressed with the surfaces and accuracy of this machine. Will consider upgrading to a 12" if it becomes available.

Great Combo Tool
I was in need of a Planner and kinda looking also at Jointers, but my workshop does not have a lot of floor space, being in the loft of a barn. This BBJP8 was the answer. The ease of conversion from Jointer to Planer is excellent. The Helical Cutterheads/knifes make the removal of materials so smooth you barely need to sand the finish product. minor snipe on the planer but there are easy ways to mitigate that. Overall I am very impressed with this/these tools. Price comparison you cannot get 2 x 8" tools with Helical heads for this price.

Impressive compact solution! While I own a full-size cabinet model jointer and planer this unit conveniently occupies the end of my workbench. It allows me to efficiently mill rough lumber for the required components right at the bench. The jointer works great, and is a true helical head, tons of carbide inserts. Honestly, I'm impressed with this and the price and free shipping was incredible.
