Our new 8" Bench top Planer with Helical Style Cutterhead features a powerful 1HP motor and a 4 row helical cutterhead with 16 indexable cutters giving you power and superior finish you would expect from a stationary machine.
Designed to manage larger, deeper cuts in wood, this parallelogram style jointer with helical style cutterhead is quieter and delivers a smoother finish compared to straight knife jointers which will reduce your sanding time. You can say goodbye to cumbersome and time consuming blade changes like straight knife jointers. Blade changes on this machine are simple and super fast. Chip an insert cutter? Simply unscrew the indexable cutter and rotate to get a fresh new cutting edge.
Teflon coated tables allow for better movement of your work even when dealing with the toughest of hardwoods. The table also features extendable handles, extending the surface for longer pieces of wood and double as strong carry handles for ease of portability. The depth of cut gauge helps you accurately set the cut depth to remove the desired amount of material.
The strong aluminum fence is lightweight keeping the overall weight of the machine down and has positive stops at the most common fence positions; 90° & 135° outwards. This unit also features a dual dust collection port at 2-1/2" & 4" for easy hook up to a shop vac or dust collector.

Great jointer. Perfect size for my workshop. Easy set up. Does a good clean job.

setting up vertical guide plate
took me a while to set up vertical guide plate to exactly 90 deg. Adjusting screws were awkward to set while maintaining plate at 90 deg. to table surface. Once set cuts were nice and clean.

Great tool
Love the 8 inch flat bed and helical head on the tool. The only down side to it, is the fence. It's a bit flimsy and hard to keep it at 90 degrees when passing pieces through.

Great cutter head
Great little jointer. I'm impressed with the cutter head. It makes smooth cuts without any chip out with figured hard maple. I only wish the same jointer was offered with carbide cutters pre-installed. I would pay extra for the option. The cost to buy two sets of carbide cutters for a jointer that already have HSS cutters installed is excessive. Busy Bee's customer service is fantastic. The jointer they first sent me had a problem. I got the needed replacement part delivered less than 72 hours after my initial email signaling the problem. That is great!

Great addition to my workshop
This has been a really great addition to my workshop (well, my garage). I don't have a lot of room so this is perfect. Planes nicely, small footprint. Love the helical cutter. Couldn't ask for anything better

8" BTHC jointer
Good benchtop jointer, however for the price, I would not buy again just because the instruction manual is absolutely horrific. The spelling mistakes and lack of "instructions" make it hard to spend 600$+.

Love it easy to setup and use. have only used it so far premium pine boards but going to use it on oak pallet boards and old barn wood

Perfect Machine for small shop
I bought this machine from Manitoba. I had concerns before buying as there is no BusyBee tools in Manitoba . It came on time and ready to work. The only thing I did is to put the fence. So far so good. I recommend it to anyone who are in the market for bench top jointer.
