CXHEPA1 HEPA CANISTER FOR 1HP DUST COLLECTORS
This canister replacement is designed to fit 1HP dust collectors. It will fit all Craftex 1HP models and can also be retrofitted to most other dust collector brands on the market.
This canister filter features a V-Weave design increasing filtering area over 6 times when compared to standard cloth bags. The high performance Hepa Canister will filter out 99.6% of dust particles 0.3 to 0.5 micron and 100% of all dust particles 1 micron and larger to help keep that harmful particles out of the air you breath. CXHEPA features more advanced filtration compared to your traditional canisters that aren't Hepa certified.
Another health advantage Hepa canister filter is the disposal of the dust. Standard bags require you to take off the bag, turn upside down and shake out the dust sending thousands of fine dust particles in to the air you breathe. With Hepa Canister, simply turn the handle located at the top of the canister to rotate the internal flapper. The flapper removes dust particles and shakes of caked on dust into the lower bag of your dust collector. Dust disposal is now safe and no longer a chore with this high performance Hepa canister.
CFM (Cubic feet per minute) is the amount of air the dust collector moves through itself per minute and depends on factors like the size of the motor and size of the impeller. Since there is less air resistance when using a Hepa canister filter the CFM will increase compared to standard dust collectors.

worthy upgrade
I`ve had this for over a year and am happy with it. It fit onto my CT053 dust collector perfectly and performance has improved. I reccomend using compressed air to clean over that flapper handle. The handle gets some bulk dust out but you will get twice as much by blowing it.

Very Effective Filter
This very pricey filter is also extremely effective. Even in strong light there is no detectable dust coming through. My dust collector pulls noticeably more air as well. Installation is a little difficult. The supplied weatherstripping is too thin and needs to be doubled up. Also the filter is far heavier than the stock bag, so the entire unit became very top heavy. I had to build a wider base for the wheels so that it wouldn't tip when moved or bumped.

easy install
My 1hp dust collector has an 11" outlet and the filter is 14". the styrofoam shipping packaging worked perfectly as an adapter. No idea what the handle is for but I installed it just so I didn't have to store it.

Excellent Performance
I must admit, it was hard to put the $ into this final upgrade to my dust collector, going from the stock 1 micron bag to this. I have children who spend time in my shop with me, so it felt like a moral choice for my health and theirs. The dust collection performance is far superior. The part I didnt really forsee is the sustained increase in CFM throughput with all my tools.

PROS: Works great, improved overall suction, good investment. CONS: no clear instructions for applying weather strip. Had to remove it so canister would fit, ended up using silicone to seal plastic ring to dust collector, no big deal as you don't need to remove canister to clean
