Upgraded from an HD Rigid which burned out the motor within 2 hrs of softwood use over 6 months. Haven't had this long but seems to work quite well. Time will tell? I would comment, as some have, the extension tables, as delivered, are best left as is vs levelling them. The slight uptilt reduces or eliminates snipe. See some of the Youtube videos for more on this. And be sure you have a good dust selection system in place, this unit will throw sawdust 10ft+.
VERY GOOD PRODUCT
I would think of myself as an advance woodturner and woodworker. I have own one of these unit for 12 years now and it has serve me well. It has a lot of use on it. It is superb for a small shop and heavy enough that it stay well in it place when use to plane wood. Mine now would need a lower table as it rough and in now marking my wood. With the newer model it easy to change to bottom table as I was told by a Dewalt Rep. I did not give it a 5 because the blades are expensive and don't really last that long . All and all I would recommend this DW735 as I just order myself a new unit. This is for the people that want a bench model.
I have used this unit many times and had to flip the knives I had a old delta before this unit it is a treat to change knives love the two speed feed rate I still get a small amount of snipe but overall has lots of power and simple to use
QUALITY TWO SPEED.ITS A LITTLE HEAVY.SOLID GOLD
