The CX616 10" Bench Top Drill Press is welcome addition to a small shop.
Features 5 different speeds setting that can be manually set by adjusting the drive belt and pulley's located on top of the unit. This unit comes well equipped with a strong induction motor suitable for heavier jobs and built in LED work light for better visibility while working. The CX616 is also equipped with standard rack and pinion table height adjustments and a solid cast iron base just like our bigger floor model drill presses yet more compact and suitable for use on top of your workbench to help save space in your shop.

It`s just Ok
Assembly instructions could be much better. I had to dis-assmeble something to put it together. That was wierd! There`s a nut in the top that keeps coming loose, causing the quill to stop while drilling. There`s no room to get a socket in to snug it back up so i use a pair of needle nose pliers to grab it to do that. Seriously? Not only should that not come loose so fast but i should be able to tighten is easily when it does. Beyond that, the quill return spring is substandard and will break in a year or two if you use it alot. Mine broke yesterday. Replacements can be found online for 15 to 20 bucks plus shipping. Be sure to note the dimensions of your spring when ordering. Come on Busy Bee! I love your store but these are the details that separate an ok machine from a great machine! After all that, it does a fair job for the price. It won`t drill large (3/4 to 1") forstener bit holes. It just doesn`t have the power/torque for that. Good drill press for the weekend warrior or occasional user.

Great Press for the Price
Great press for the price, but the instructions for assembly are horrendous. Some of the pieces are just simply not even mentioned and you just sort of have to figure it out. Some diagrams don't even have text associated with it. As well, some diagrams are misleading. If you assemble the lock mechanism as pictured in the booklet, it wont work because only one side of the table assembly is tapped. Having someone spend 20 minutes reviewing those and correcting the mistakes or adding what is missing would make it seem like a far more professional product.
