The Busy Bee Tools No. 5 Jack Plane is a versatile woodworking hand plane designed for removing material, flattening boards and bringing workpieces to their required dimensions. Its 14-inch length makes it well suited to flattening the face of a board before thicknessing, and it can be used on boards up to 20 inches wide.

Modelled after the original Stanley No. 5, this jack plane is cast from ductile iron with a ground-flat sole for reliable contact with the workpiece. The sapele handle and front knob are finished with oil, providing a comfortable grip and dependable control throughout the cut.

Separate blade controls allow the cutting iron to be advanced or retracted for depth-of-cut adjustments and shifted from side to side to centre the blade. The O1 steel blade is hardened to 58–62 HRC to support a fine cutting edge, while the CRCA steel chip breaker helps reduce tear-out.
