1-1/2 HP Knee Milling Machine - Craftex CX-Series
This heavy duty knee mill has the power and space to make quick and accurate work of just about any machining job you can throw at it. Equipped with a 1-1/2 HP motor, a 8" x 30" work table and constructed with a heavy duty one-piece casting this machine will be the mainstay in your shop. Made in Taiwan, you can see and feel the attention to detail from the fine down feed controls to the smooth casting and high tolerances one would expect. The CX603 is loaded with features giving any machinist precision and versatility.
Like all CX-Series machines, this unit features powder coated paint, sharp looking two tone colours and a full 3 year warranty.

Having been looking for a suitable milling machine for a while , I took the time to compare all the possible candidates out there . Having owned a mill-drill type in the past , I was ready to upgrade to a stiffer more capable knee-type machine. And im very satisfied with my choice . I was debating between the 603 and the 602 ,,, well Im VERY happy I got the 603! well worth the extra $ The 603 is a heavy, quality built machine with plenty of travel and very precise. The dial are crisp and easy to read , the finish is spot on , solid and well put together. Having worked with it for the past month and a half, can say its all there. Everything is within specs , runs tight with min. vibration , and Im on a wooden floor,,, the machine is well designed with predrilled caped holes for the cooland pump in the column , it also has a predrilled and caped base drain , just pop it out, I ordered the power feed , for it , and it fits very well and easy to install , just dont use the supplied mounting bracket , its a universal kit ,with pleanty of hardware , I also got the coolant system , very good quality and easy to install kit. The speeds are well spaced out for general work , I would say that its a 60 Hz motor so the quoted speeds are wrong on the description , its 270- 3200 RPM but thats not a big problem , I find it better for working with smaller dia. end mills:) 12 speeds would have been easy to supply ,just a extra step on the motor pully , but OK , ill live with it, The only thing I can really say about the 603 is the tee slots are 1/2 inch ,,,,,, a bit on the small side for such a big machine, I was expecting 5/8 tee slots ,,, ( yes I know! I have 2 sets of 5/8 clamping kits from the previous machine!!!thats why im talking about it!) but once you get a new kit you quickly forget about it :) Overall ,Im VERY SATISFIED with the 603 , I would highly recommend the 603 over all other machines in its operating range and price.
