The Laguna PX|16 Planer combines substantial capacity with an ergonomic, modern design built around easier setup and operation. Its 5 HP, 220V motor powers a six-row ShearTec II cutterhead fitted with 108 four-sided carbide inserts, producing a smooth shearing cut across a wide range of wood species.
Machine controls and the Wixey digital thickness readout are positioned on an angled upper control panel for clear visibility and convenient access. Infeed and outfeed rollers assist with material handling while preserving a compact footprint, and the four-post bed support helps maintain consistent thickness from cut to cut.
A serrated infeed roller and pressure bar are positioned close to the cutterhead to help minimize snipe. The reversible 4" dust chute can be directed to either the left or right, making it easier to connect the planer to different workshop dust collection layouts.
