Description

Product Description

The DeWalt DWS780RST 12" Double-Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw combines jobsite durability with the accuracy and capacity required for trim work, cabinetry, framing, deck building, and installation projects. This package includes a free rolling miter saw stand and a 12" thin-kerf carbide blade, providing a versatile cutting setup for the workshop or jobsite.

The integrated XPS LED cut alignment system casts a blade shadow directly onto the workpiece, clearly showing where the blade will contact the material. Because the shadow follows the blade itself, the system does not require recalibration when the blade is changed or as the saw is used over time.

Its dual-bevel design tilts from 0° to 49° in both directions, with positive stops at 0°, 22.5°, 33.9°, 45°, and 49°. A high-visibility bevel scale makes settings easier to read, while the adjustable stainless steel miter detent plate provides 10 positive stops for commonly used cutting angles.

The saw miters up to 60° to the right and 50° to the left. A cam-lock miter control lets the operator quickly secure the table at detent positions or at custom angles between stops.

Powered by a 15 Amp motor running at 3,800 RPM, the DWS780 offers substantial crosscutting and moulding capacity. It can cut baseboard up to 6-3/4" vertically against the fence, nested crown moulding up to 7-1/2", and dimensional lumber up to 2 x 16 at 90° when used with the back-fence configuration.

FAQ

What is included with the DWS780RST package?

The package includes the DeWalt DWS780 12" sliding compound miter saw, a free rolling miter saw stand, and a 12" thin-kerf carbide blade.

What does the XPS cut alignment system do?

The XPS LED system casts the blade’s shadow onto the workpiece, showing where the blade will contact the material before the cut is made.

Does the XPS system require calibration?

No. Because it uses the blade’s actual shadow as the cut indicator, it does not require recalibration when blades are changed.

Can the saw bevel in both directions?

Yes. The saw bevels from 0° to 49° to both the left and right.

What bevel stops are included?

Positive bevel stops are provided at 0°, 22.5°, 33.9°, 45°, and 49° in both directions.

How far can the saw miter?

The saw miters up to 60° to the right and 50° to the left.

What is the maximum crosscut capacity?

The maximum listed crosscut width at 90° is 16". The back-fence configuration supports cuts up to 2 x 16 at 90°.

What size baseboard can the saw cut vertically?

It can cut baseboard up to 6-3/4" high when positioned vertically against the fence.

What is the nested crown moulding capacity?

The saw can cut nested crown moulding up to 7-1/2".
