A portable 12-1/2" benchtop planer with a 2 HP motor, six-row helical-style cutterhead, 24 indexable HSS inserts and dual-port dust collection.
This 12-1/2" Benchtop Planer with Helical-Style Cutterhead delivers the power and cutting performance needed for dimensioning lumber in the workshop or at the jobsite. Its 2 HP, 120V motor drives a six-row cutterhead fitted with 24 two-sided, indexable HSS inserts for smooth, efficient stock removal.
Compared with a traditional straight-knife cutterhead, the helical-style design operates more quietly and produces a smoother surface that can help reduce sanding time. When an insert becomes chipped or dull, it can be removed and rotated to expose a fresh cutting edge, simplifying cutter maintenance and eliminating the need to replace or reset a full set of straight knives.
The cutterhead travels on a four-column, precision-ground carriage system for added stability and reduced snipe. A built-in cut-depth indicator automatically displays the depth of each pass, with a maximum cutting depth of up to 1/8" depending on stock width.
Integrated dust collection includes both 2-1/2" and 4" ports for connection to a shop vacuum or dust collector. Built-in side handles make the 27.5 kg planer easier to move between storage, the workbench and the jobsite.
