The Laguna JX|8 ShearTec II is a 220V, 3 HP jointer designed to make stock preparation safer, smoother, and more efficient. Its cast-iron tables and fence provide a stable foundation for flattening faces, straightening edges, and preparing boards for accurate joinery.

The parallelogram table design allows the infeed table to move through an arc while maintaining a consistent relationship with the cutterhead. This helps support precise depth-of-cut adjustments across the table’s travel.

A full-length knee-stop bar runs along the front of the machine, allowing the operator to shut off the jointer quickly from multiple working positions while keeping both hands on the workpiece. The redesigned machine body also includes a toe-kick area, helping the operator stand closer to the tables and move more comfortably along the machine.

For longer stock, the infeed table includes an 8" pull-out support roller. Built-in wheels make it easier to reposition the jointer without purchasing a separate mobility kit.

The standard ShearTec II cutterhead uses 54 four-sided carbide inserts arranged in six rows. The inserts create a shearing cut for a smooth finish, including on challenging hardwoods. Each insert can be rotated to expose a fresh cutting edge without using a knife-setting jig. Deep cutterhead grooves help reduce operating noise and improve chip ejection.
