20" Planer with Helical Cutterhead - Craftex CX-Series
The CX20HC is equipped with a Helical Cutterhead which means it operates more like a sheer or skew cut taken with a hand plane, as the cutters are positioned at an angle to the feed rate and this shearing action provides a quieter, smoother and superior finish compared to the standard knives and spiral cutterheads.
This machine is built in the same factory as our CX20SC (20" Spiral Cutterhead Planer), and after testing both units side by side, the Helical Cutterhead provided a smoother and superior finish compared to the Spiral Version.
This planer will tackle just about any project you throw at it, all day, everyday. Features on this unit include a powerful 5HP motor, precision ground cast iron table and full cast iron extension wings, integrated mobile base for ease of mobility and overall heavy duty construction. Set up was easy and it's run true right from the jump. Have been running all hardwoods since day one and immediately noticed the difference from my old General straight knife Planer. Much smoother and a better finish, very satisfied so far. Happy I spent the extra on the helical as I can see it paying it self off shortly just in my time. Kudos to the team in Edmonton for the great service!

This planer is an absolute beast. Been using this for about 2 years now and wanted to post a review becuase of the value ive receved from this machine. I would highly recommend this planer to anyone whos looking for a true work horse. Spend the extra and get the helical head, it's absolutely worth it.
