Rikon 70-3040
I purchased the Rikon 70-2040 in March 2023. So far I’m very happy with the lathe. The sliding bed is rock solid and takes up less space in the shop. The 3hp motor provides all the power I need to turn big heavy material. The fit, finish and tolerances are outstanding, every part is robust and moves easily. The only negative point I have is that there is no spindle lock (other than the index pin) that can be used to remove chucks or work pieces from the spindle. The wrenches provided work well however sometimes you need two hands and a lock would greatly assist. I would recommend this lathe to anyone looking for a large capacity lathe.
