AIRSHIELD PRO Face Protector - TREND
Protect your lungs and face during virtually any woodworking task with the air-circulating Trend® Airshield Pro. Designed to protect users from harmful dust particulates down to 0.3 microns in size at a 98-percent efficiency rate, this comfortable shield features a built-in fan that circulates filtered air to prevent fogging and provide some cooling. The nickel metal hydride battery allows for up to eight hours of operation on a full charge, twice the length of previous models. Includes an airflow indicator and storage bag.

Works Great
This works great. I use it for wood turning and don’t even notice the dust when sanding.

New Headband
I contacted Trend in the UK via email. I got a response from the U.S. office a couple days later and they sent me a new headband free of charge. The new headband is black and not grey so I am assuming a different plastic. It still has the same weak pivot point hopefully with the new plastic it will be better. I do intend to reinforce this point as I do not tilt the unit. I was impressed by BB in that they did not delete my earlier more negative review as I have seen some other companies do.

Poor quality headband
I purchased this unit last fall and was very happy with it until the headband broke after less than a dozen uses. I had just charged the battery the third time so you can see how much it has been used. I am retired and this was an expensive investment for me and after a little more searching on the net it seems this is a common problem At $35 - $45 plus shipping depending on where you get the replacement it could be an extremely expensive investment it the replacements are no better than the original. Until Trend comes out with a better headband I can not recommend purchasing this product.

good air cleaner
Biggest disadvantage is the weight but having worn a hard hat for years you don't notice it after a while. Sits on my head without moving around better than many face shields I have worn. It's really nice in a hot shop with the air blowing down over your face. The air movement keeps the face shield from fogging up and our face feels cooler so your whole body seems to feel cooler. One of those purchases that I'm glad I made.
