Our new 12 ½" Bench top Planer with Helical Style Cutterhead features a powerful 2HP and a 6 row helical cutterhead with 24 indexable cutters giving you power and superior finish you would expect from a stationary machine. Designed to manage larger, deeper cuts in wood, the helical style cutterhead is quieter and delivers a smoother finish compared to straight knife planers which will reduce your sanding time. This unit comes equipped with a cut depth indicator that automatically measures the depth of cut for each pass you take up to 1/8" and features built in dust collection with dual ports at 2-1/2" & 4" for easy hook up to a shop vac or dust collector.
The cutterhead raises and lowers on a 4 column precision ground carriage system which drastically reduces snipe. The convenient side carry handles allow for ease of portability and blade changes on this machine are simple and super fast. Chip an insert cutter? Simply unscrew the indexable cutter and rotate to get a fresh new cutting edge. Say goodbye to cumbersome and time consuming blade changes with traditional straight knife planers.

12.5IN. PLANER WITH HELICAL CUTTERHEAD CSA CX125HC
After using this planer for a few months , I can not rate this higher than a 2 star. I was really excited for the helical cutterhead which works great. The problem is the feed roller . Even after constantly cleaning the feed roller it still slips .I now have to hand feed my wood through the machine . It is obvious that the rubber used for the wheel is wearing prematurely causing the roller to just spin and slip. It is time to get a dewalt with the upgraded helical cutter head.This is definitely not a 4 star product

Good planer with a few issues
Overall it's a pretty good planer for the money, however there are a few issues. 1. The bolts on top of the machine will leave scratches if you aren't careful. This could have easily have been designed with flush bolt heads. 2. The drive wheels slip A LOT, so you have to push the wood through the planer, sometimes very hard. 3. Takes a long time to get used to winding the height handle backwards.

Awesome planer!
Yes it's not a true helical but it cuts much better and smoother than a 3 blade. Puts my 13" dewalt to shame

Was eyeing this planer for a long time!
Finally pulled the trigger and I'm extremly happy. cleaner cuts with each pass and has really cut down sanding time. Barrie store was out of stock of the replacement carbide cutters which was a bit of a dissapointment but will get those when they are back in stock for an even shraper cut. Machine was very well packaged and the only negative thing I can say about it is that I should have got this much sooner.

Fantastic
This machine far exceeded my expectations for this price. It planes quickly, has superb finish, and is very accurate. You can easily plane to 1/32 accuracy, If you oversize slightly, use a digital caliper then trim down, you can get to 1/128 accuracy. I built a stand to position the planer exactly at table height so that material is fed in flat. You need this for longer workpieces.

Needs a little tweaking out of the box
My new planer arrived today and it was easy to setup, but when I did a couple of test runs with it the sniping was quite substantial. After about an hour or so of tweaking and leveling the in and outfeed tables, I can live with the sniping that is happening. Overall, the finish on the boards is good and it seems like a solid product.
