This poorly designed table insert bends when you tighten the fence which interferes with the flow of work. To (partially) repair the effect, you can install two stiffeners made of hardwood or metal. Mine are 1/2" x 3/4" x 8" Oak and seem to work just fine. The insert is predrilled to accommodate this.

  2. Waste of money...poor quality

    Waste of money...poor quality 1 Pat 24th Nov 2013

Total waste of money, plate sags with a Porter Cable 890, rings are not flush (wood catches on the edges) and the 9x12 size is no common therefore upgrading to higher quality is not possible as most are around 8 3/4x 11 /3/4 (depending on brand). Like in another review, I built a nice table top and now I will have to rebuild it for a new plate with a router lift. Will end up in the garbage. Deserves 0 stars......

  3. Saggy

Don't cheap out on this insert plate. I did and regret it after all the work I put into making a nice router table. It sags and flexes quite a bit which makes it impossible to get nice clean straight cuts.

  4. Good fit

Fit perfectly with my table with minor adjustment. Its good insert for this price.

  5. Product uses a poor choice for material

Base plate sags right out of the box new. Sags over 2 mm. Basically you cant use it in a table. If you try to level the middle using the the leveling screws the perimeter plate is raised 2mm . What happenes when you level the 4 screws and slide your wood across there is a step where the base plate ends. Its 2mm which means the wood stops from sliding.
